As this year falls on the 55th anniversary of the inauguration of the Autonomous Fire Defence System, we decided to hold the "2003 Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition" with the cooperation of the Tokyo Fire Department.
We have hold safety exhibitions in the past.The "International Fire and Safety Exhibition '98 in Tokyo" and "Disaster Rescue & Relief 2000" have acknowledged that growing public awareness toward disaster prevention increases each year. Hence, we have realised the importnce of holding this exhibition.
Obviously, "fire and disaster prevention" is the most important issue necessary to build a city offering a secure life. In this ex-hibition, where the latest anti-fire and anti-disaster technologies and systems assemble, we hope to introduce them not only to the fire defense administrative organizations but also to the public. To deepen their understanding on fire fighting and disaster prevention and we will be happy if this exhibition contributes towards enhancing their consciousness toward disaster prevention.
